Fishing was slow overall and it was a bit breezy out...we did manage to catch two blues in the high 30's.......both came from 40-45ft of water, on froze cut skip-jack....this one came out of a blow down I didn't think I was gonna get it out.

Launched out of Osbourne today. Bait was no issue today. Within a few minutes I had plenty of shad in the net for myself and another boat. Fished a couple of hours down around the 295 bridge. Marked fish & bait everywhere. Had a heck of a time getting a bite though. I did end up putting a couple of teens in the boat, but that was about it. Worked my way upriver and eventually ended up in the hole that I caught the 48 out of last weekend. Sure enough, I marked bait & fish on the depth finder. . .

Well everyone, not sure how Tank would describe the day, but I thought it was great. Went out with Tank obviously. Put in at Jordan point and went down river to get bait. Put out the gill net and nothing but a lonely bass. At this point getting bait looked like it was going to be tough and time was running out on the out-going tide. So set the gill net up elswhere and was going to let it sit a few min. so Tank decided the throw the cast net. Well he threw it and got enough bait to last a . . .

Started off by going to a local lake last night and throwing the net on some shad so I wouldn't have to search this morning for them. Put in at Jordan Point around 7:30 and headed down river to some DEEP water. Marked fish, tide was rollin out, and I was ready! Hung into a decent fish on my new braided line time to try it out, Then I about threw the whole works in the river after the fish got off, but that's another topic. No more bites until after the tide change. A hour or so into the. . .

The day started off bad at best, first little to no bait anywhere, not even in my secret honey hole. second the wind machine was on full blast right down the river which made for a tough time anchoring. we put in at osborne and headed for the glass house hole and found them stacked up in the top of the hole. plenty of good hits but no hook-ups, so........up river we go. hit a couple holes around Jimmy Dean's and up to the 895 bridge and found some in a hidden hole, well when the guys that. . .

Well after thinking over my missed opportunity of previous week to land the big one, I decided to take my boat to work again and give it a late afternoon try. Since we were peppered with bites at the last stop the week before, it was going to be first on our list this week. We started control drifting the outside bend over chunk rock at 28' as it started dropping steeply to 50' I told my buddy we were getting in the danger zone from last week. 1 minute later I see his rod tip slammed but. . .

After seeing a few pics of Skipjack's catches (including the insane 72 lber) and getting glimpses of his boat during bass fishing outings, an odd site since its a saltwater center console kenner, i finally get a change to fish out of the back of it. TennTarp and Skipjack and I worked on Skip's huge 100 gallon livewell the night before, hoping to test it out the next day on our trip. and by working on it i mean TennTarp and I watched skip work while we drank his beer. Wednesday July 19 rolls. . .

WOOOOHOOO YEEEHAAAWWW!!!! What started off as a rough week got more than made up for when Kilmer, his dad, and cousin brought Flipper down to do some fishing on the mighty Ohio. We set out with some nice goldfish and Israeli carp. We tried to catch some fresh shad to round off the menu. Next we got set up on a good spot known to produce some bigguns every now and then, and baited up.I borrowed a pair of scissors from Mike and did my psycho Norman Bates imitation on a gallon sized freezer bag. . .

I think I have a new favorite holiday weekend for flatheading Me and HillbillyKat3 and my son Jeremy hooked up for a weekend of flatheading on Burnsville Lake back on labor day weekend. I was fishing two nights while the other two both had to work on Monday, so everybody was in their own boats with John arriving late because his girlfriends mother had fell in the bath tub and broke her leg. Me and Jer got busy and cleaned up the spots and commenced to catching some gills while we were. . .

I spent most of the day on Friday watching the weather forecast hoping that 20% chance of rain would not turn into the thunderstorms and 3 inches of rain that it usually did. The forecast went from 20 to 40 then 80% chance of showers as the day progressed but I had decided to go. Usually when there is an 80% chance of rain and I do not go I kick myself in the morning. As I approached the lake the clouds parted and I was happy with my decision. Finally I pulled my boat into the bank at a spot. . .
